Gary Fencik named Illinois Lottery Control Board chairman

The newly-formed Illinois Lottery Control Board has unanimously elected former Chicago Bears player Gary Fencik as it first chairman.

Fencik, who played 12 years for the Bears in the 1970s and 80s, including the 1985 world championship season, is a partner in a private equity firm. Among the board's function's is to review state lottery marketing.

Fencik was chosen by the five-member board, which was appointed by Governor Pat Quinn.
