PHOTOS: Suspect arrested in cornfield
Police say Daniel Bakalik, of Mokena, Ill., who was driving a stolen pickup truck, led officers on a chase that reached up to 90 mph along I-80 from the 90 mile marker to just west of I-55. The driver pulled over into a cornfield and fled from the vehicle.
Illinois State Police troopers took Bakalik into custody around 6:50 a.m. He was still in the cornfield. Bakalik is charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and numerous other traffic offenses, police say.
