Chicago streets are smoother, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). Since May, crews have filled a backlog of more than 3,700 potholes.

In 2012, the Chicago Department of Transportation has filled more than 350,000 potholes.

CDOT says reforms under Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, including better scheduling and coordinating delivery as asphalt led to the efficiency.
