Authorities say Amtrak Train 350 on its way from Chicago to the Detroit/Pontiac area in Michigan derailed Sunday morning.

Two of its locomotives and at least one passenger coach derailed.

The train was carrying 174 passengers and four crew members.

According to a statement issued by a Chicago-based Amtrak spokesperson, the derailment happened at approximately 10:10 a.m. and there were fewer than a dozen injuries.

"There are no reports of serious or life-threatening injuries," the statement read.

The spokesperson said passengers who did not need medical attention were put on another train to continue to their destination.
