17 booster seats rated; 2 not recommended

October 25, 2012

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety tested 17 booster seats introduced this year. Fifteen earned the top rating of "best bet." They are designed to improve how adult lap and shoulder seat belts fit children so the belts can properly restrain them in crashes.

Two booster seats are not recommended because they do not provide proper seat belt fit.

Parents are advised to avoid the Safety First All-in-One and Safety First Alpha Omega Elite booster seats.
