A South Side Chicago church is giving out frozen chickens to needy families Saturday.

Just like last year, the faith community of St. Sabina is working with the Hear Foundation to hand out 800, 10-lbs. chickens.

The event was scheduled from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at The ARK of Saint Sabina at 7800 S. Racine Ave. in Chicago, according to the church's website.

Rev. Michael Pfleger says the food distribution helps the many families struggling through tough economic times.
