Woman sues over open house jewelry theft

A Highland Park woman is suing a real estate firm, after more than $160,000 in jewelry was stolen from her home during an open house.

Lena Katamanin claims Midwest Realty Ventures had sole control of her home when the jewels were taken from her closet in April 2012.

. She charges that the company's and an agent's careless acts led to theft.

ABC7 News was unable to reach Midwest Realty Ventures for a comment.
