Community Connection: IL Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation Conference

On Friday, November 16, 2012, the 10th Annual Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation Conference (www.illcf.org) is inviting everyone to learn about Latinos and their role in Illinois.

"La Presencia Latina: Reflections on the Past ... An Agenda for the Future" will feature workshops and discussions about jobs and more, to provide a forum for issues of critical importance to the Latino community. The keynote speaker is Ray Suarez, an acclaimed author and well-known former senior correspondent for PBS' The News Hour. ABC7 is a media partner. State Rep. Maria Antonia Berrios, co-chair of the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation, came into our ABC7 studio to tell us about the event.

9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Opening General Session and Welcome
10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.: Concurrent Sessions
12 p.m.to 1:45 p.m.: Scholarship Awards Luncheon and Special Recognitions
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Town Hall Meeting with state political leaders
3:30 to 5:00 pm: 10th Anniversary Celebratory Reception
