Dancing With the Stars eliminates 2 All-Stars in one night

November 14, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Kirstie Alley and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, became the seventh All- Star team cut from the competition.

But along the way, they sure had a blast.

"If you don't laugh around her, you have zero sense of humor and you're probably not alive," said Chmerkovskiy .

Though their scores never got them better than one from the bottom, their fans kept them here for eight weeks.

"I honestly thought we'd be voted off any second every single Show, and our fans are insanely amazing. Thank you for staying up all night, voting for us every week," said Alley.

The night's second elimination came minutes later. Gilles Marini and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, came just one elimination away from next week's semi-finals.

"He's just so good, and he's such a hard worker, and it's just like, it's not fair. You should be there in the finals!" Murgatroyd said. "Yeah, well, this is life, right?" Marini said.

Gilles said he'd be teaching his young daughter that it's okay to lose. Besides, he won a friend in this whole adventure.

"I'm taking away Peta Murgatroyd in my heart, in my life. I met someone exquisite. There's pretty much no word for Peta," he said.

But Peta had a few words about Gilles, said through a few tears.

"He's amazing, and he's taught me a whole lot of life lessons and, yeah, a friend for life," she said.

Another tough double elimination comes next week.
