Nearly two dozen arrested in Magnificent Mile protest

December 22, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Hundreds demonstrated with the "Workers Organizing Committee of Chicago" to call for higher wages.

The union represents low-wage food and retail workers.

Organizers said that higher wages could put $179 million into Chicago's economy.

The union formed in November and was involved with the landmark Walmart strike on Black Friday.
