Number of people getting screened for cancer drops

December 27, 2012

Researchers at Miami University in Ohio compared screening rates for the most common types of cancers with the screening rates of cancer survivors.

They found that the number of screenings has dropped for all types except colorectal cancer in the last 10 years.

The drop is a result of disagreements over screening guidelines as well as an increase in the number of uninsured Americans, according to the study's authors.
