At 12:08 a.m., St. Anthony's Hospital in Little Village welcomed the arrival of Aydan Alvarado. Little Aydan weighs 7 lbs. 3 ounces. He was welcomed by parents Georgina Acosta and Fernando Alvarado.
Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge welcomed its first baby of 2013 at 12:23 a.m. The baby girl had not been named later Tuesday, but she weighed in at 5 lbs. 12 ounces.
The hospital gave the baby's parents a gift basket of bottles, bibs and booties.
