In 2004, Bregstone stopped to help a family whose car had broken down on the side of the road. That encounter blossomed into an life-changing event for the family and Bregstone.
The family couldn't afford a tow truck or repairs for the vehicle, so Bregstone stepped in to help. But his help didn't stop – and still continues today. He later invited the family to his home for Christmas. During this time, Bregstone realized that the family's daughter had the desire to attend college, but she did not have the financial support that was needed to accomplish her goal.
That was the starting point for College Bound Opportunities, a nonprofit organization founded by Bregstone. In December 2012, the student graduated from college, fulfilling her dreams and the dreams Bregstone has for all needy students.
