Alisa Massaro, 18; Bethany McKee, 18; Adam Landerman, 19 (who is the son of a Joliet police sergeant); and Joshua Miner, 24, have been charged with the deaths of Eric Glover, 22, and Terrence Rankins, 22, according to police.
The bodies were found in Massaro's house in the 1100-block of North Hickory Street.
Glover and Rankins had been strangled and there was an attempt to dismember the bodies, according to the coroner.
It was Wednesday night when Glover and Rankins left Rankins' Joliet home together.
That's the last time their loved ones saw either of them alive.
"It's just senseless," Glover's mother Nicole Jones said. "It's hard for me to say the words."
When neither man had come home by Thursday evening, their families called police.
"That gut wrenching feeling that parents get. Our hearts just dropped to our stomach. We were panic stricken," Glover's stepfather Bobby Jones said.
About 4 p.m. Thursday Joliet police were called to a gruesome scene in Massaro's house.
The scene inside the home was unspeakable, police said.
Making it even more bizarre three of the suspects were allegedly playing video games when police arrived.
The three people found at the home were arrested and charged with murder, along with a fourth person who'd left the house shortly before police arrived.
They were surprised when police arrived and it appeared that they "continued the party atmosphere" after the murders, according to Joliet Police Chief Mike Trafton said.
"This is one of the most brutal, heinous and upsetting things I've ever seen in my 27 years of law enforcement," Trafton said Friday. "Not only the crime scene, but the disregard for common decency toward human beings."
Police say Glover and Rankins were lured to the home, robbed and then killed.
"It's demonic. This is evil," Rankins' mother Jamille Kent said. "He is 22 years old. He didn't get to live his life because of sick people," she said. "It leaves me empty. I'm numb."
Glover's fiancée Heather Gossman is concerned about their daughter.
"That's her dad and now she doesn't have her dad no more. And I don't know what to tell her when she asks where is daddy. I don't know what to say," Gossman said.
