Police warn men after string of North Side robberies near bars

January 18, 2013 (CHICAGO)

There have been least two robberies outside North Side bars recently, according to police.

In each case, the men have been robbed in the early morning hours after stopping to talk with a woman or a group of women near bars, police said.

One robbery took place at Armitage and Halsted and another incident happened nearby on Armitage near Fremont, according to authorities.

The men were robbed of cell phones and money, police said.

In one case a male was lured into a black SUV by a female, ordered to empty his pockets while in the vehicle and let out of the SUV, according to police.

In the other incident, the women took the items, jumped into a waiting SUV and took off, authorities said.
