A 23-year-old Northlake man has pleaded not guilty to killing his former girlfriend last month.

Prosecutors say Adam Belmont climbed onto the balcony of Alyssa van Meter's apartment, broke in, then stabbed her with a pocket knife.

The knife was engraved with their names and anniversary date.

Belmont could face life in prison if convicted.

A side note: Belmont is the third person in DuPage County to have cameras record his arraignment.
