Alzheimer's disease may triple by 2050

February 7, 2013

USA Today reports that the number of people living with Alzheimer's disease will nearly triple by 2050. Numbers are projected to rise from about 5 million now to nearly 14 million Alzheimer's patients. That would create a huge strain on the health care system and the health of caregivers.

There's no known cure for the disease, which robs people of their memory, erases personality, and makes routine tasks impossible.
