Our weekly segment featuring fun activities for the whole family:

We begin in west suburban Downers Grove where it's the final day the ice festival. From the 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., there will ice carving demonstrations, magic and more in downtown Downers Grove. (http://www.downtowndg.org/)

In Elmhurst, the Historical Museum is hosting a Build Your Own Race Car workshop. From Lamborghini Diablo's to a Corvette Sting Ray, parents and kids can put together their own race own cars from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $5 for non-members, $3 for members. If you're looking for ways to put your free time to good use, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is hosting the Chicago Volunteer Expo 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Nearly 50 organizations looking for volunteer help will be on hand.
