Two bodies found buried in wooded area in Burnham

February 22, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The bodies, which were found close to the Illinois-Indiana border, were buried under three feet of dirt. A source says the bodies may have been there for a year and a half.

The FBI was led to the area with cadaver dogs and began digging earlier in the week. On Thursday, FBI and police brought out warming equipment to get into the frozen ground. That is when the bodies were discovered.

It is believed the victims are White or Hispanic males.

Joan Hype with the FBI released this statement:

"I can confirm that the FBI was in the area most of the day yesterday (and into the evening) working with some local police departmetnts and they completed the work they were doing in the area."

Authorities have said this is an ongoing investigation.
