Wedding gowns sold to support breast cancer patients

March 9, 2013 (CHICAGO)

All the proceeds from the nationwide tour of gowns will go to support breast cancer patients and their families as well as fund breast cancer research and education. The tour stopped at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago.

"Every bride that walks in the door today and our guests will receive a shower card, to remind you to do self-exams in the shower on a monthly basis," the organization's Jenny Alday said. "Prevention and protection is key to saving your life or someone else's life. So brides, guests, everybody can come here and get educated and pay it forward to help somebody affected by cancer, one dress at a time."

The designer and brand name gowns were discounted anywhere between 25 and 85-percent.
