If blowing bubbles brings back childhood memories, then National Bubble Week is for you.

The unique holiday runs from March 20th through March 27th. Ben Jimenez is one of a handful of professional bubble artists who make a living playing with bubbles. Based in Evanston, he performs his show at schools, libraries, conventions, fund raisers and more. In honor the holiday he has several public performances scheduled:

March 25, 6:00 PM, Eisenhower Public Library, Harwood Heights
March 27, 6:30 PM, North Hoffman Branch of the Palatine Library, Hoffman Estates
March 28, 11:00 AM, Main Branch of the Palatine Library, Palatine
April 28, 11:00 AM, Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), McCormick Place, Chicago

Homemade Bubble Juice Recipe:
1 gallon of cold tap water (or distilled water)
5 fluid oz. of Palmolive Soft Touch Ultra with Aloe dish detergent--Joy or Dawn also works fine.
1 fluid oz. of glycerin. Available at larger Wal Mart stores in the pharmacy dept.

Fill a clean, plastic milk jug about 3/4 full of water. Add the dish detergent and glycerin. Put the cap on and shake to mix thoroughly. Add the rest of the water to make a full gallon and shake to mix. If possible, leave the cap off and let it set overnight.

Use various tools (straw, pipe cleaner, dinner plate, cereal bowl, paint brush) to great bubbles.
