"I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers," Bon Jovi said. "In short, that problem is much more prevalent than any of us, well, than I knew. I cannot get over how many people I've met who've said, 'My son, my daughter.'"

Bon Jovi told Katie drug problems affect all kinds of families on March 15, 2013. Watch the Bon Jovi interview here.

"There's a lot of pressure on kids these days," Bon Jovi said. "I'm just blessed that she's healthy and whole, and we're getting through it."

Stephanie Bongiovi, 19, was charged with drug possession after she overdosed on heroin in November 2012 in a college dorm. Those charges were eventually dropped.

Under New York's Good Samaritan Law, someone who overdoses or seeks help for an overdose victim can't be prosecuted for having a small amount of heroin or any amount of marijuana. The law is designed to reduce overdose threats by encouraging people to call 911 without fear of prosecution.
