Wrigley residents, city battle ballpark on renovations

March 27, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The team and City of Chicago are negotiating the Wrigley Field actual renovation plans- and how to pay for them. The Ricketts family, which owns the Cubs, is willing to invest $500 million in improvements in the park and the neighborhood. However, they want the city to ease restrictions on Wrigley Field's landmark status, which could allow more advertising and street fairs on Sheffield Avenue.

Rooftop bleacher owners are worried new billboards around the ballpark will block their views.
