Detectives say they terrorized overnight clerks in gas stations and convenience stores for weeks, waving a black semi-automatic pistol and demanding money.
Tuesday morning, police converged on Kissena Park after undercover officers tried to stop a minivan matching the description of the getaway car.
The suspects lost control and crashed.
Officers moved-in with dogs, as a police helicopter tracked their movements from the air.
Within six hours, the manhunt was called-off after both suspects were taken into custody.
"They went to stop the car, a chase resulted, one person was apprehended in the van, another fled the vehicle and went into a park," Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
The commissioner said officers recovered a loaded pistol inside the minivan.
The men are believed responsible for a series of armed robberies in Queens.
They may also be the same gunmen who carried-out similar hold-ups across northern and central Nassau County.
All of them took place between 3 and 5 a.m.
All told, there have been as many as 15 robberies in the past four weeks.
