HIV testing: Group recommends it for all people aged 15-65

April 29, 2013

The U.S. Preventative Services Task Force now recommends that everyone between the ages of 15 and 65 should be tested for HIV.

The change comes after the group, which makes independent recommendations to doctors, found about 20-percent of HIV infected people were going undiagnosed.

The new guidelines stress HIV testing for all pregnant women as well as frequent retesting for individuals engaged in high-risk behavior.
