CTA plans 'extremely loud' Red Line project to reduce 'slow zones' in Rogers Park

The Chicago Transit Authority is warning people in Rogers Park about an 'extremely loud' construction project going on this weekend.

Crews will be working around the clock to build an electrical substation at Glenwood and Pratt.

That includes installing steel pipes under the Red Line tracks.

The CTA says the substation will boost electricity to the tracks so trains can move faster through areas that are now 'slow zones.'
