Annual drive aims to 'Stamp Out Hunger'

May 10, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Mayor Rahm Emanuel is encouraging Chicagoans to participate in the 21st annual "Stamp Out Hunger" campaign.

The event is the largest single day food drive in the nation.

Last year Chicagoans donated 634,000 pounds of food.

All you need to do is leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable food items next to your mailbox before your mail is delivered on Saturday.

Local mail carriers will pick them up as they deliver mail.
