Many women still getting yearly mammograms despite new guidelines

In 2009 official U.S. guidelines were updated to suggest women wait until age 50 for routine breast cancer screenings if they have no risk factors or family history of the disease.

But according to researchers, 53-percent of women in their 40s report having a mammogram in the past year, indicating that women are hesitant to change their behavior when it comes to possibly saving their lives.
