ADHD affects as many as 11 percent of U.S. children, mostly boys.
A new study involved 207 boys who had been diagnosed with childhood ADHD and 178 boys without it.
The participants were surveyed again at age 41.
Researchers found that the men who had ADHD weighed an average of 19 lbs. more than those without it.
Approximately 41 percent of them were obese, compared to 12 percent of the males who did not have ADHD.
The study is in the journal Pediatrics.
