Chicago is getting a new shelter for victims of domestic violence.

It is the first new shelter in 10 years in the city.

A rendering shows what the shelter in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood will look like.

It is expected to open in June 2014.

The shelter will be built by a partnership that includes the groups Women in Need Growing Stronger, Metropolitan Family Services, and the Greater Southwest Development Corporation.
