Woman shot on city's South Side near 93rd and Ridgeland

June 6, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Police say the gunman sprayed shots all over the neighborhood near the intersection of 93rd and Ridgeland around 3 p.m. The woman, in her 30s, is hospitalized in stable condition with a gunshot wound to her upper body.

Neighbors say the shooting started in an alley and continued down the block. The victim was caught in crossfire in the front yard of her home when she was shot. She had just picked up her children from a nearby school. They were not hurt.

Bullets came through the window of Al Hogan Jr.'s home.

"I'm just counting my blessings. I have no idea what that means. I'm grateful I wasn't sitting there," Al Hogan, Jr., victim's neighbor, said.

Hogan said Pill Hill is normally a quiet neighborhood.
