On Friday, "The Gateway" on State Street was revealed.
The spot was created by the Chicago Loop Alliance.
It's located in the median on State Street between Lake and Wacker Drive.
The area has blue and red canopied tables, flower boxes, trees and banners welcoming visitors.
The plaza will be managed and cleaned by a team every day through the end of September.
"The Gateway" is part of the city's "Make Way for People" initiative.
