A rare baby monkey reached a big milestone, surviving its first few weeks of life at an Australian zoo.

The tiny Francois' Leaf Monkey had to be hand-raised by staff at Sydney's Taronga Zoo after its mother couldn't produce enough milk.

Zookeepers worried that raising the monkey by hand could cause the monkey's mother to reject it, but the family was reunited successfully this week.

Only about 500 Francois' Leaf Monkeys still live in the wild, according to the zoo.
