Chicago Fire Department paramedics happened to be headed westbound in the 3400 block of West Lake Street when they realized they were approaching the crossfire.
The paramedics were able to get to safety and call police.
Jeremiah Moore, 24, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at a hospital late last night.
Another teenage male was critically wounded.
No one is in custody.
