Chicago most expensive city to fill up gas tank

The U.S. average has dropped, according to the Lundberg Survey, but Chicago remains the highest per gallon.

In the past three weeks, prices across the nation have dropped two cents, and the average gallon of regular is now at $3.64. There's been no real movement in the past week.

Compare that to Chicago, where gas prices have risen 15.1-cents per gallon in the past week, according to GasBuddy. In Chicago, a gallon of regular gas costs about $4.48.

That's up 46.4 cents per gallon from the same day a year ago.
