First lady, daughters explore Irish ancestry in Dublin

June 17, 2013 (DUBLIN)

On Monday, they explored their family's Irish roots during a visit to Dublin.

They went to the library at Trinity College to see birth records from President Obama's great- great- great grandfather who is from Moneygall, Ireland.

They also met with a distant cousin who gave them certificates of Irish ancestry.

He says the girls were amazed and excited that those certificates will help them prove their Irish ancestry to their friends.
