Stroger Hospital pharmacy audit raises concerns

An audit raises concerns about practices at the Stroger Hospital pharmacies.

The concerns are outlined in a letter from the independent inspector general. The audit found such things as a lack of adequate security at the hospital loading dock.

There was also no automated, system-wide program for reporting lost or stolen pharmaceuticals, and many incidents of missing, lost, or stolen pharmaceuticals were not resolved.

ABC7 was unable to reach anyone from the hospital for comment.
