Algae bloom covers 11,000 square miles off China coast

Chinese officials are removing a massive bloom of green algae from beaches and coastal waters covering an area of more than 11,000 square miles.

The growth has shown up seven years in a row.

Chinese officials blame unusually warm ocean temperatures, but scientists elsewhere say pollution is a major factor.
