Jet Magazine relaunches look with brighter colors, bigger photos

July 30, 2013 (CHIAGO)

Now Jet, which was founded in 1942 by the late John H. Johnson, is undergoing a re-launch. This redesign is the first in the 62 years of the publication, which has been a long staple in the black community. The new look includes brighter colors against a white background, more informational graphics, larger photos and new fonts. The one thing that won't change, is the magazine's unusual size -5 1/8 inches by 7 3/8 inches.

The first issue of Jet launched November 1, 1951 and featured Mrs. Sugar Ray Robinson and came in a pocket-sized form. On October 1, 1970, the publication changed its size, on October 4, 1973, the publications added pages and on February 15, 2010, the publications went through another redesign. Editor in Chief, Mitzi Miller tells us what readers can expect.
