Report: Hobson-Lucas Chicago wedding may have bent rules

July 31, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The Chicago Park District may have bent its rules so the power couple could hold a star-studded party at Promontory Point.

According to the Chicago Tribune, records from the event and other celebrations at the lakefront location show officials waived rules governing the party's hours, caterers and restrooms. Hobson and Lucas' party planner paid for painting and other work near the site.

The price tag for ten days of setup, park district crews, clean up, parking lots and a performance by Prince was $125,000.

The bride wanted a party in her hometown after a ceremony in California last month. The couple rented out the entire park at on South Lake Shore at 55th Street. The Lucas fortune is estimated at more than $7 billion.
