Twelve Match Cup teams are battling from Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, France and Chicago. The teams, for the most part, are familiar with each other study each other's tactics, personalities, and most importantly, the teams understand how to read the wind.
In Match Cup racings, all of the boats are the same- the boats are 28-foot and made from fiber glass. The team that has the best technique and timing is the winning team. The winning team is provided with a monetary reward.
"$100,000, that's a good chunk," said Match Cup racer Sally Barkow.
