Study: Fruit, vegetables may reduce infants' allergies

August 12, 2013 9:48:48 AM PDT
Certain diets for infants may reduce the risk of food allergies.

A new British study suggests babies who ate more fruits and vegetables and less commercially processed baby foods were less likely to develop a food allergy by age 2.

Researchers say those allergy-free babies did eat some processed baby foods, though they did not have them predominantly in their diets.

The study suggests vitamins and minerals in fresh foods may help prevent allergies.
