U.S. Postal Service customers targeted by e-mail scam

The United States Postal Service has issued a warning about an e-mail scam targeting their mail customers.

The e-mails claim to be from the U.S. Postal Service and contain fraudulent information about an attempted or intercepted package delivery or online postage charges.

The e-mails direct customers to click on a link to open the attachment or print the label. When opened, then link installs a malicious virus onto the customer's computer that can steal personal information.

The U.S. Postal Service is advising customers to delete the message without further action.

If you have questions about a delivery or wish to report spam, the U.S. Postal Service asks that customers call 1-800-ASK-USPS or email spam@uspis.gov.
