It was a beautiful day for a parade!

The Department of Defense Prisoner of War Missing Personnel Office reached out to over 220 families in an effort to find their long lost loved ones that are unaccounted for while serving during past wars.

The Family Update Program began in 1993, it collects DNA data from living relatives to try and identify remains of their loved ones.

For Mary Ann Ryther, finding her uncle's remains would mean closure for her whole family.

"I really, really would like to see something brought back for my family," she said. "Even though my grandparents are gone I'm sure that that they'll have them together.:

The Family Update Program meets 6 to 8 times a year all across the country and provides POW MIA updates to families.
