It happened Friday morning at Madison and Central Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood.
Police provided a surveillance photo of the suspect and his car.
A 14-year-old girl was walking alone when the suspect pulled alongside her in his car and motioned her to come over.
The man then grabbed the girl's arm, but she was able to break free and the suspect drove off.
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20's, about 5'-5", 170 pounds with a short, neatly trimmed beard.
