Some residents in south suburban Robbins expressed their outrage Monday night over plans to build a new quarry that could force them out of their homes.

Residents met with the developer, ALM, and village board trustees. The plan is to turn hundreds of acres into an industrial complex and quarry. That could displace about 100 families.

"Why should we be taken away? Why should we have to leave? This is our homes," said Annette Clark, Robbins resident.

The village board is set to vote Tuesday on whether to ask the general assembly to approve a quick-take purchase to seize the targeted homes.
