Killed bicyclist honored with street dedication

October 25, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Honorary Bobby Cann Way honors the memory of the long-time bicycling advocate. Friends put up a memorial to him, too.

Cann was 26 years old when he died after being hit at that intersection last May.

"Bobby genuinely wanted to make the world a better place, and I'm so grateful to all of you for providing a way to keep alive his spirit of doing, fixing, solving and improving things for everyone," said Maria Cann, Bobby's mother.

Bicycling advocates hope this dedication will be a reminder of the need to make roads safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
