LAX Shooting Impact: Chicago O'Hare Airport returning to normal

November 2, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Increased security was visible at O'Hare Friday bomb-sniffing dogs greeted travelers. Saturday, however, there was no visible increase in security, except a few additional security guards, although O'Hare officials did tell ABC7 Eyewitness News security was "heightened."

Passengers were moving through O'Hare security swiftly Saturday, and check of the flight boards showed flights headed for Los Angeles were on time.

Some passengers said they were thinking about what happened Friday at LAX as they traveled Saturday.

"We're glad we weren't flying yesterday, and we're glad we weren't flying to LA," said Gail Fujisawa, who was traveling to Salt Lake City from Chicago.

Fujisawa also said she did not notice much of anything different inside the airport.

Although service was getting back to normal at both LAX and Chicago O'Hare, travelers were still advised to check on flight status and allow a little extra time, just in case.
