The accident happened at about 6 p.m. Saturday when a car made a U-turn, causing the semi to swerve in an effort avoid the car and wound up going into a ditch on the east side of Route 47, and then back onto the road, coming to rest on the west shoulder.
A gas tank ruptured on the semi and caused approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel to leak onto the road and into the ditch.
No one was injured in the crash.
