Library officials blame the closure on falling tax revenue.
Saturday, a state official said Seaway Bank has given Maywood library a one-year extension on the $517,000 the library owes the bank.
"Seaway Bank has also approved a loan of $150,000, secured by the lot right next door here to the library," said State Representative Chris Welch (7th District). "That infusion of $150,000 will allow the library to open on Tuesday."
Welch has appointed an advisory committee to work with the Maywood Library Board to make recommendations to keep the library open.
